Dolly Parton is featured on a new recording of Bound to Ride, a song closely associated with bluegrass legends the Stanley Brothers. The release announcement confirms that Parton recorded the track with the First Ladies of Bluegrass, bringing together several prominent musicians from the genre.
The recording is part of Where the Soul Never Dies: Celebrating 80 Years of The Stanley Brothers, a tribute project honoring the influential duo’s long-running impact on country and bluegrass music. Parton’s vocal was recorded separately during an earlier studio session, while Alison Brown, Becky Buller, Sierra Hull, Missy Raines, and Molly Tuttle contributed to the collaboration.
The tribute album is scheduled for release on October 16, 2026, and includes performances from a broad lineup of country and bluegrass artists. Willie Nelson, Billy Strings, Sierra Ferrell, Dierks Bentley, and Jamey Johnson are among the musicians involved.
Bound to Ride also reflects Parton’s deep connection to Appalachian music and the traditional bluegrass sound that helped shape her early musical identity.
