Lainey Wilson and Five For Fighting singer John Ondrasik will take part in a televised 9/11 tribute marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
As announced for the live special, the two artists are scheduled to perform from the base of New York City’s Tribute in Light installation. Cyndi Lauper will also appear during the broadcast, which is set for September 11 at 8 p.m. ET.
The program will be hosted by David Muir, Robin Roberts and Diane Sawyer. It will honor those who died in the attacks while also recognizing survivors, families, first responders, and communities affected by the events of September 11, 2001.
Ondrasik is expected to perform Superman (It’s Not Easy), a song that became closely associated with the period following the attacks. Wilson’s participation adds a country music presence to the commemorative event.
The special will air across several major television and streaming platforms as part of the national remembrance.
