Music fans and collectors will soon have a chance to own a piece of Johnny Marr’s career as nearly 100 guitars from his personal collection are set to go up for auction. The sale, announced through a special event organized by Christie’s, will feature instruments tied to some of the most recognizable moments in Marr’s decades-long career.

Among the highlights are guitars used during his time with The Smiths, along with instruments connected to later projects and collaborations. Several pieces were also played during work with artists including Billie Eilish and on projects linked to the James Bond franchise.

Marr said the collection reflects different stages of his musical journey, with each guitar carrying its own history and memories. While many of the instruments have remained in storage, he explained that the auction offers an opportunity for them to be appreciated and played by new owners.

A portion of the proceeds from selected lots will be donated to charitable causes. The auction is expected to attract interest from collectors, musicians, and fans eager to own instruments associated with one of Britain’s most influential guitarists.
